I haven’t been everywhere in the world, but it is on my list. My love for travel was discovered at a young age. In my Sophomore year of high school I was selected to join an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. by the Close-Up Foundation. A few years later, the Universe had more travel plans in store for me when I was invited to go to New York City for the National Model United Nations Conference to represent my college. Once again, all expenses paid! “It is undeniable that traveling is destined for me,” I thought.
Since the traveling bug bit me, I have parasailed over Aruba, watched planes fly over me while at the beach in St. Maarten, backpacked through Costa Rica to surf the beaches in Jaco, snorkeled in the clear blue waters of Puerto Rico, and cave tubed in Belize. I have observed the sunset from the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower in Chicago and top of Guinnes tower in Dublin. I snowboarded the slopes of Winter Park in Colorado and rode the train in London. I’ve been lost in Stanley Park in Vancouver, indulged in the best oysters in Seattle, and toured the wine country in Ontario. For me, “to travel is to live.”
