“Having a destination wedding meant that we got to have so much quality time with our family and friends without any of the stress of coordinating gathering spaces, meals, transportation, or any other logistics. It was so much fun to walk down to breakfast at the resort and see my high school friends on the hallway. To see my aunt and uncle enjoying breakfast and my niece and nephew in the pool. Rather than one whirlwind day with getting to see everyone, we had all weekend, and that felt especially sweet after a year of Covid.”

“Our wedding was simple, elegant, and intentional. We kept everything pretty in line with the package that was included with our wedding at the resort, so we didn’t pay for any upgrades (special decor, a dance floor, or party favors) but even with that simplicity, the venue itself felt breathtakingly beautiful. We were able to work with our wedding coordinator and officiant to weave in elements that felt unique to us throughout the day. When I think back on the day, it just felt radiantly joyful, with very little stress.”

“Because of Covid, we had to delay our original destination wedding, which we had planned to do in June 2020. Instead, we made the decision to delay our wedding celebration with everyone, but to go ahead and elope. One year and one day later, we were able to go to the resort and celebrate our wedding, one year in, with all of the traditional rituals of a wedding. Somehow, doing the ceremony a year later made certain elements, like getting to wear my wedding dress, having my dad walk me down the aisle, and getting to say our vows in front of our family and friends felt so much richer and more meaningful than I would have thought. Because we were technically already married, it took the pressure off the day, and we were able to be fully present with everyone. “

“We loved working with Modern Destinations! Our main hope in planning our wedding was to find a way to make it as stress-free as possible, and Itzel and Kendyll made that goal happen! We especially appreciated the service where they researched the best resorts for our goals, dates, and budget. That took ours of stress and deliberation off our plates. It was nice to have an advocate and help, just an email away, as we navigated through the process–and especially with all the complications of having to postpone our wedding because of Covid! “
