Katie & Nick

Wedding Date: 7/14/2018
Excellence Playa Mujeres

“Our favorite memory… hard to pick. I think what we loved most about our destination wedding was that we had a week to spend with all of our closest family and friends. Being from different states, Nick and I have family and friends from all over that we don’t get to spend a lot of time with. So having a week where everyone could meet each other was just perfect. It was really awesome seeing how well everyone got along, and how many new friendships were made. Definitely a memorable moment was when Nick’s dad Jim took his shirt off at the reception.. he was the last person we expected that from and it was a good feeling knowing that everyone had such a good time (he was also our officiant). My favorite personal memory, was when I was getting ready to walk down the aisle. My favorite song playing, the man of my dreams waiting at the end of the aisle for me… I’ve never felt so happy and blessed in my life, it’s hard to describe in words.”

“Our wedding style was rustic Mexican. I’m not sure if that’s the right theme to call it, but I wanted kind of a rustic barn theme mixed with the bright Mexican colors I love… I told the resort that I wanted a rustic Mexican theme, and they hit it right on!”

“My favorite detail was how our chairs at the reception were placed perfectly in front of the palm trees with the ocean in the background!”

“Modern Destination Weddings definitely took a lot of the stress out of planning the wedding. They helped guest pick their rooms and flights. They helped answer a lot of our guest questions which gave me more time for planning the fun stuff. It was hard at first to pick which resort we wanted to have our wedding at, so their knowledge of the different resorts helped us pick out the perfect place for our wedding.”
